It's the time of year for country shows and heather clad moors.
On 24th August it is Egton Show, possibly the largest village show in the country and certainly the largest in Yorkshire after the Great Yorkshire Show. Jan is entering some of her homemade preserves, and whatever the outcome our guests have voted them winners. Just see our TripAdvisor reviews!
At present the moors are looking at their best with their mantle of purple heather. It's a perfect time for walking and enjoying not just the sight but also the heady perfume and the sound of the bees working to produce their delicious heather honey.
The photograph shows the moorland immediately above our fields and the view down to Robin Hood's' Bay. You can enjoy an even better view of the Bay from the house and garden. Why not pay us a visit and see for yourself.
