A busy start to the year

The year has got off to a busy start for us and we were fully booked over the Easter weekend. We do, however have vacancies over the two May Bank Holiday weekends, so book now if you don't want to be disappointed! We have received three TripAdvisor reviews from our guests so far this spring, all three giving us a top rating, maintaining our 100% record in that respect. It is very satisfying to think that people enjoy staying with us and that we can make their well-earned breaks that little bit special.

The daffodils are now well and truly past their best, but blossom abounds on many trees and the leaves are that bright fresh green on the sycamores. Soon the hawthorn will be in bloom, heralding the 'white frothy' time of the year. The first swallows are back and have been checking out their nesting sites in our barn, and the first cuckoo has been heard to join the rich chorus of birdsong that we enjoy every day now. Add to that the brown hares chasing in the field behind the house and the usual deer, badgers and occasional fox and it makes us truly appreciate living in such a wonderful part of the country.
